Perioral eruption caused by candida albicans
In two reported cases, a 22-year-old female and a 60-year-old male suddenly developed perioral erythematous infiltration with multiple papular and pustular lesions similar to acne conglobata.123 Many colonies of Candida albicans were cultured from pustules prior to systemic treatment with antibiotics and topical anticandidal treatment.

Figure 3.88 shows severe inflammation, pustules and nodules in this patient. After healing of the lesions with some scarring, C. albicans could not be cultured..
